About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Software Design Engineer to serve as the technical authority for our web platforms. In this role, you will define our front-end architecture, setting the long-term technical roadmap for highly scalable, performant, and accessible user interfaces. You will work at the intersection of product strategy and engineering excellence, ensuring our technical choices today support the growth and complexity of tomorrow. You won't just follow standards; you will create them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Strategy: Define and evolve a robust, maintainable front-end architecture that supports high-performance web applications and seamless integration with GenAI/LLM services.
  • Technical Leadership: Identify high-level requirements and scope complex, cross-team solutions. You will be responsible for de-risking major technical pivots and scheduling large-scale deliverables.
  • Standards & Excellence: Promote and drive the adoption of industry-leading coding standards, design patterns, and CI/CD practices across the entire engineering organization.
  • Hands-on Innovation: Develop mission-critical software using TypeScript, React, Next.js/Remix, and emerging technologies. You will tackle the most "wicked" technical challenges that block other teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and Backend leads to harmonize the full-stack ecosystem and enhance our platform's capabilities.
  • Mentorship & Influence: Lead by example by conducting deep-dive code reviews, mentoring senior engineers, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and engineering rigor.
  • Operational Health: Drive improvements in system observability, response to customer incidents, and the overall reliability of our front-end infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Front End Expertise: Extensive experience building enterprise-scale applications with React, Next.js/Remix, and TypeScript. You should have a deep understanding of state management, server-side rendering (SSR), and web performance optimization.
  • AI Integration: A demonstrable passion for, and experience with integrating LLMs and Generative AI into user-facing products.
  • Experience: * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Leadership Track Record: Proven experience leading large-scale architectural shifts or multi-quarter projects that impacted multiple teams.

Target cash compensation range: $148,550 - $191,630 Annually
