About the Role: We are looking for a hands-on Lead SDET with a strong product and engineering mindset to own, build, and scale the end-to-end quality function in a fast-growing startup environment. This role goes beyond traditional QA leadership. You will design and build automation frameworks, influence architecture and design for testability, drive shift-left quality practices, and mentor a high-performing SDET team. You will work closely with Group, Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Security, and DevOps teams to ensure fast, reliable, and scalable product releases with minimal defect leakage. Responsibilities:
  • Own the end-to-end QA lifecycle across web and mobile products
  • Define, implement, and continuously evolve QA strategy, processes, and best practices
  • Establish quality standards, release criteria, and risk assessment frameworks
  • Provide release readiness reports, quality metrics, defect trends, and risk insights to leadership
  • Identify quality gaps, systemic risks, and proactively drive resolution
  • Actively contribute as an individual contributor in manual and automated testing
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across: UI (Web)API & Backend, Integration and End-to-End layers
  • Develop and execute functional and non-functional test cases
  • Perform regression, smoke, sanity, API, performance, load, security, and accessibility testing
  • Ensure high-quality UI/UX, pixel-perfect validation
  • Drive and support BDD-based testing practices
  • Own and evolve the test automation platform for scalability, reliability, and ease of use
  • Build and enhance internal QA tools to improve test efficiency and productivity
  • Implement test observability and reporting systems for analytics, dashboards, and alerts
  • Reduce test flakiness through intelligent retries, failure analysis, and stability improvements
  • Contribute to CI/CD quality gates and continuous testing pipelines
  • Research and apply emerging technologies (AI/ML, LLM-based testing, smart test generation) to advance automation maturity
  • Lead performance, load, and scalability testing for critical features and services
  • Validate infrastructure-level quality in containerized and distributed environments
  • Partner with Engineering and DevOps to ensure systems meet scalability and reliability SLAs
  • Advocate and implement shift-left testing by embedding quality early in design and development
  • Participate in architecture, design, and requirement reviews to improve testability
  • Provide quality insights on microservices, micro-frontends, databases, and data flows
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues and close defect leakage loops
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 3–4 QA/SDET engineers
  • Review test cases, automation code, and defect reports
  • Set coding standards, automation patterns, and best practices
  • Ensure timely delivery of testing activities aligned with sprint and release schedules
  • Build onboarding documentation and training materials for frameworks and tools
  • Inspire a quality-first, ownership-driven mindset across the team
  • Work closely with Group Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Developers, Security, and DevOps teams
  • Act as a quality advocate across the organization, ensuring quality is owned throughout the product lifecycle
  • Ensure customer impact and real-world reliability remain central to all quality decisions
  • Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in QA, Software Testing, or SDET roles
  • 2+ years of experience in a senior or lead testing role
  • Strong hands-on experience in manual and automation testing
  • Proven experience building and scaling automation frameworks from scratch
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java
  • Solid understanding of API, backend, and integration testing
  • Experience with performance, load, and scalability testing
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing
  • Ability to independently own quality end-to-end in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-first and customer-first mindset
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
