About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical or Controls Engineer to join the team as a Lead Service Engineer. This hands-on, highly visible role is primarily responsible for customer support and resolving in-house and field service issues. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with customers, troubleshooting real-world challenges, and collaborating across multiple teams.
While service is the primary focus, this role also supports Production during machine builds and R&D during prototype development. This position is well-suited for someone who values variety, ownership, and seeing the direct impact of their work.
Service & Customer Support (Primary Focus)
Serve as the lead technical resource for customer service calls and in-house service issues
Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation issues prior to machine shipment
Provide remote technical support to customers and Field Service Engineers
Assist Field Service Engineers with diagnostics and issue resolution in the field
Document service issues, root causes, and corrective actions
Drive continuous improvement in service processes and machine reliability
Production Support
Assist with electrical wiring, panel layout, and automation troubleshooting during machine builds
Support factory testing and system validation prior to shipment
Resolve build-time electrical or controls issues efficiently to maintain production schedules
R&D / Engineering Support
Assist with electrical wiring and controls integration for prototype machines
Support testing, debugging, and iterative improvements of new designs
Provide service-driven feedback to engineering to improve reliability and serviceability
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical systems and automation equipment
Experience working with PC-based control systems (non-PLC architectures)
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Experience interacting with customers in a technical support capacity
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
