Description
The Senior Project Manager role has two primary functions: to deliver client projects on time and within budget, and to provide leadership and oversight to the project management team. The SPM is responsible for developing, owning, and maintaining comprehensive project plans for each client, ensuring timely and on-budget execution.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, excellent project management skills, and the ability to manage teams and client relationships effectively. A deep understanding of Shopify, eCommerce platforms, budgets, and project scope management is essential, along with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable project plans.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Own delivery of client projects on budget and on time.
- Manage the PM team.
- Relentlessly drive for resources needed to meet the timeline, raise flags as per the designated escalation plan.
- Consistently pursue budget clarity, for both work already completed as well as work that has yet to be done.
- Oversee the PM team and rigorously identify change requests (increase to scope, changes in assumptions, etc) from clients.

When evaluating change requests from clients:
- Work with the team to ensure a thorough understanding of the budget and timeline implications.
- Clearly communicate the budget and timeline implications to the client to ensure alignment before accepting the change request.
- Be able to say “no” to a client regarding a change request if it negatively impacts delivery for other client projects.

Hold members of the team accountable:
- Proactively provide work estimates and adhere to these estimates to keep control of the budget and timeline.
- Require team members to provide consistent and clear status updates on assigned work items and proactive communication about estimated overages and extended time required.
- Deliver work items on time, in order to maintain the overall project timeline.
- Work with the production team to manage accurate resource planning.

Develop and maintain project plans for each client project.
- Ensure a solid understanding of project status (which work has been done and which work has yet to be done) in order to keep the client and larger production team up to date.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of PM experience in eCommerce with a focus on Shopify clients

Experience leading projects/teams where revenue is in excess of $500,000 combined at a time.
- Proven experience leading other PMs is a plus.
- Agile experience, SCRUM master preferred.

Experience with Gantt charts and SWOT analysis techniques
- Ability to speak effectively on ROI, Gap, and SWOT analysis
- Proven track record of deliverability on projects with time and budget (references required).
- Knowledge of Jira is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Technical capabilities
- 5+ year project management tools (Jira and Atlassian)
- 5+ years of experience in Google or MS Suite
