As a Lead Power Delivery Engineer, you will play a critical role in the technical execution of high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) substation projects, supporting the full lifecycle from interconnection through design and delivery. This position requires deep expertise in power systems engineering, project coordination, and utility interface. You will be responsible for managing technical aspects of interconnection processes, collaborating with utilities and consultants, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and interconnection requirements. You will also contribute to contractor coordination, procurement support, and provide technical input during construction planning for substation and transmission infrastructure. Key Accountabilities
  • Serve as a technical expert in HV and EHV substation projects, contributing to design reviews and engineering deliverables
  • Review design documents, bid packages, and schedules to ensure alignment with project requirements; identify and help resolve potential conflicts impacting construction or other disciplines
  • Recommend and apply engineering standards and cost-effective alternatives, keeping stakeholders informed of technical issues and solutions
  • Evaluate construction documents for completeness, accuracy, and constructability
  • Participate in pre-construction planning sessions to support project readiness
  • Provide technical support during installation, including responding to RFIs and coordinating with on-site staff, EPC contractors, and project teams
  • Collaborate with engineering and site development teams to review project proposals and advise on technical feasibility, scheduling, and execution strategies
  • Perform field verifications to ensure construction aligns with design intent, including QA/QC activities and preparatory meetings
  • Conduct site observations and provide technical input as part of the construction quality assurance process
  • Coordinate with engineering service providers to ensure deliverables meet project expectations
  • Support contract administration and coordination with general contractors
  • Contribute to the successful execution of multiple projects simultaneously through effective time and task management
  • Required Skills
  • 7+ years’ experience in construction management, design, design management, or relevant field
  • 4+ years’ experience with power delivery design and/or substation construction
  • Experience with high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) substations
  • Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred but not required)
