About the Role
The Lead of Governance & Business will ensuring that all lending operations are executed consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with company strategy.This role bridges Risk, Product, Operations, and Network (field teams) by translating high-level policies into clear, actionable SOPs and business rules, while ensuring strong execution discipline across all regions.
Job Description :
1. Governance & SOP Ownership
- Define, develop, and continuously improve Business Rules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the lending lifecycle (onboarding → disbursement → repayment-> collection)
- Ensure SOPs are practical, scalable, and aligned with risk guardrails
- Act as the single owner of business process standardization across regions
2. Execution Control & Operational Discipline
- Ensure consistent execution of lending processes across branch/field teams
- Monitor adherence to SOPs, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions
- Establish controls for ticket response SLA, incident handling, and process compliance
3. Change Management & Adoption
- Adoption Tracking & Enforcement after new policy and SOP roll-out
- Link adoption to the performance tracking (loss impact reduces or growth increase)
- Build and maintain real-time monitoring tools / dashboards for operational visibility
4. Data Quality & Business Integrity
- Define and enforce data quality standards (e.g., onboarding data accuracy >95%)
- Collaborate with Product and Tech to improve data validation and system controls
- Ensure data integrity to support risk, compliance, and decision-making
5. Stakeholder Management & Alignment
- Partner closely with Risk, Product, Operations, and Network Excellence teams
- Translate risk policies into executable business processes
- Act as a key escalation point for field teams and ensure resolution with internal teams
6. Process Improvement & Transformation
- Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce inefficiencies, and scale processes
- Drive automation initiatives and adoption of tools to improve performance
- Lead continuous improvement programs across lending operations
7. Build Area/Branch heatmap to map-out all operational risks and condition across branches
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in lending, operations, governance, or risk (fintech/banking preferred)
- Proven experience in SOP development, process governance, or operational control
- Strong analytical capability (Excel, SQL is a plus)
- Experience with dashboard/reporting tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
- Familiarity with incident tracking / workflow tools
- Strong governance & control mindset
- Ability to translate strategy → execution (policy → SOP → field)
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Strong understanding of lending lifecycle and risk processes
