Job Summary

The Lead, Laboratory Quality & Standards ensures the highest levels of accuracy, reliability, and compliance in laboratory operations. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance programs that align with national and international standards. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality assurance programs to ensure laboratory operations meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate laboratory performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with laboratory standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and management to standardize procedures, optimize workflows, and promote a culture of quality and accountability.
  • Provide training and guidance to laboratory personnel on quality control, data management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • 6–10 years of experience in laboratory operations, quality management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or quality assurance role.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree (MSc) is an advantage.
  • Professional certification in laboratory quality management (e.g., MLS(ASCP), CQA(ASQ)) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189, CAP, CLIA) and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills, with a commitment to driving quality and innovation in laboratory services.
  • Must be a resident of Imo State or open to relocation.
