Position Description
We’re looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to establish and grow our electrical engineering practice in Austin. This is a rare opportunity to define technical direction, shape project delivery, and build a local team — all with the support of an established, multidisciplinary firm and a strong nationwide electrical group. Position Salary Range*
The expected salary range for this position is $145,000 to $168,000 annually.
Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
- 15+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in the building design industry
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Strong proficiency with Autodesk MEP Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office

Position Responsibilities***
- Provide electrical engineering design for various building types
- Serve as Engineer-in-responsible-charge, making technical decisions, reviewing, stamping, and signing Construction Documents
- Provide leadership, communication, training, mentorship, continuous assignments, and feedback to team members
- Drive business development by identifying market opportunities and participating in firm-wide project interviews
- Support project interviews, prepare fee proposals, and assist with contract negotiations
- Schedule project workloads, represent Cushing Terrell in meetings, and assist in strategy sessions
- Review design packages and provide clear technical direction to project teams
- Direct activities of workers and consultants preparing drawings and specifications
- Manage the financial aspects of projects, balancing strong client relationships with business goals
- Execute supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining team members, addressing complaints, and resolving issues
- Act as a resource/advisor for continuing education topics/needs
- Engage actively in professional development

*Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate’s years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
