Lead Design Engineer — Growth & Marketing

Perplexity is seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer to help revolutionize the way people search and interact online.

Tech Stack: React | TypeScript | Tailwind | Python

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the designers, marketers, and engineers to bring beautiful and impactful introductory web experiences to life. These experiences are the introduction to our products and brand and have immense potential impact when done well.

  • Work with and improve the tools that enable effective marketing sites like our CMS, design system, i18n process, SEO/AEO, a/b testing.

  • Always be thinking about how to improve design quality, fit & finish, and team velocity.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining high traffic web experiences for marketing or similar purposes

  • Genuine interest in collaborating with marketing and brand design—how can we effectively tell the story or Perplexity?

  • Strong coding fundamentals, and some experience working across the stack.

  • Knowledgeable about web design and UI patterns at scale

  • Passion for prototyping, experimentation, and creating accessible experiences

  • Extreme ownership mindset

  • Takes pride in getting the small details right

  • 8+ years of industry experience with 4+ years in a design/marketing engineering
