AI overview

Lead a team of Business Intelligence Analysts to design data models and deliver high-quality solutions with Power BI, while enhancing data governance and stakeholder engagement.

The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Lead Business Intelligence Developer to join us on the exciting and rewarding path we are taking here at Castle Trust Bank. We pride ourselves in being a fintech challenger bank, providing specialist property mortgages, retail finance lending and savings accounts to a variety of customers.

This role plays a leading role within the Data team. You will own the data model design and deliver high quality data solutions from this platform, including Power BI reporting and data extracts. You will engage with stakeholders across the business to understand all aspects of the source systems and reporting requirements and then convert these into models and logic to enable suitable reporting to be built.

This will enable high-quality data solutions to be delivered, either as interactive and engaging Power BI reports, training/documentation for others to use their data models, or as data extracts. You will ensure reports are tested to a high standard before sharing with stakeholders, as well as put in place controls and checks to ensure data integrity is maintained. Delivering improved data governance and controls is another key responsibility for this role.

In addition, you will also have responsibility for managing and leading a team of Business Intelligence Analysts, setting clear objectives and managing them against these, ensuring collaboration and teamwork, and driving a culture of technical and personal development within the team.

This role will benefit a hybrid working arrangement, to be based between our Basingstoke office (3 days) and working the rest of the week from home.

  • Strong conceptual data modelling skills, enabling translation of business requirements into clear specifications for the data engineering team
  • Adept at testing model changes, extracts and new reports, to ensure that these are delivered smoothly to stakeholders
  • Experience in managing or mentoring small teams to deliver to high standards and best practice. Initially there will be two direct reports to this role

Desirable

  • Inquisitive, wanting to understand source systems, data models, control processes, and business change demands, to help them deliver quality solutions
  • Expert in data security within Power BI, with experience in implementing security controls
  • Keep up to date with technology developments, demonstrating a keen interest in the evolution of the data solutions landscape for reporting and analytics
  • Experience with governance and change management, including CI/CD processes
  • Demonstrate a passion for ensuring timely availability and high quality of your reporting and extracts
