Role purpose

We are seeking a proactive and influential Data & AI Architect to act as a critical bridge between EDO Enterprise Architecture team and our diverse business units. This role will be embedded within a specific business function, serving as their dedicated expert to accelerate their data mesh, data science, ML, and AI initiatives. The goal of this role is to translate central architectural blueprints into tangible, high-value solutions that solve real-world business use cases.

Accountabilities

  • Architectural Enablement: Serve as the primary architect and trusted advisor on all data, ML, and AI initiatives, from ideation to production.
  • Solution Design: Partner with business stakeholders and product teams to understand their use cases. Design and document end-to-end solutions that effectively apply our central blueprints and patterns for data mesh, MLOps, and AI services.
  • Collaboration & Alignment: Act as the voice of the business unit within the central architecture community. Provide feedback to the central team to evolve and improve enterprise blueprints based on real-world application and business needs.
  • Governance & Best Practices: Represent the functions in the central Design Authority, ensuring solutions are compliant, secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards. Champion architectural best practices and data literacy within business unit.
  • Strategic Guidance: Proactively identify opportunities within the business function where data and AI can create significant value, helping to shape the domain's data strategy and roadmap.

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

  • Experience with design patterns, Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and practices, including bounded contexts, domain models, and ubiquitous language.
  • Familiarity with modern architecture patterns like serverless, microservices architecture patterns and best practices, including service decomposition, containerization, and orchestration with tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proven track record of implementing automation strategies for build, test, deployment, and monitoring processes, using tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, CircleCI or similar.
  • Deep understanding of performance optimization techniques for applications, including code profiling, caching strategies, and resource management.
  • Experience defining and implementing quality matrices for projects, including code coverage, static code analysis, and automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Jasmine.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with the AWS ecosystem, particularly data & AI services, security (IAM), and networking (VPC)
  • Data & AI Platforms: Expert-level knowledge and practical experience with: Databricks, SageMaker, Bedrock, popular LLM Agenting Frameworks for building AI applications.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Essential proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • DevOps Tools & Practices: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins) and containerization (Docker).
  • Proven ability to implement and automate practices for DataOps, MLOps, and AgentOps
  • Core Skills: Strong programming skills in Python & SQL

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
