We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead AI Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of advanced AI solutions that create business value and enhance user experiences. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive innovation and ensure the smooth deployment of AI-powered products and services. You will also mentor team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI and GenAI systems to solve complex business challenges
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and actionable insights
• Lead teams of 3-5 AI/ML engineers, data engineers, and MLOps professionals
• Work closely with software developers to integrate AI and data-driven modules into larger software solutions, ensuring seamless functionality and performance
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists and engineers, promoting best practices in AI/ML development
• Conduct comprehensive data analysis and model validation to ensure the robustness, reliability, and scalability of AI/ML solutions
• Translate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders clearly and persuasively, facilitating informed decision-making
• Participate in ad hoc pre-sales efforts, leveraging technical expertise to support business development initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 7-8 years experience in data science, machine learning, AI engineering or software development, with a demonstrated track record of deploying machine learning models and AI solutions in production environments
• In-depth knowledge of transformer-based models such as BERT
• Experience with LLMs: commercial (Anthropic, OpenAI) and non-commercial (e.g. Llama)
• Knowledge of prompt-engineering techniques such as CoT, few-shot learning, and fine-tuning/PEFT
• Proficiency in Python, including common frameworks and packages: numpy, pandas; Scikit-learn; TensorFlow, PyTorch; Spacy; LangChain, LlamaIndex
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, specifically the AWS suite
• Hands-on involvement in deploying models using containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset, with the ability to drive change and influence organizational direction
• Strong leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage teams and stakeholders
