Latent Print Examiner
TLDR
Join a collaborative team at AVER as a Latent Print Examiner, delivering critical biometric services and supporting identity management for the Department of Homeland Security.
- Prepare, search, retrieve, analyze, compare, and evaluate friction ridge images
- Compare latent prints to known prints and make conclusions- must possess hands on practical experience with latent print examination, comparison and identification
- Examine digital images and determination whether a latent print has sufficient quality to make a comparison, and/or to submit to the available databases
- Utilize digital forensic principles and tools and possess working knowledge of tools and systems used for identity exploitation of biometric attributes
- Review and evaluate identity data contained in large Federal identity information repositories and in the management best practices, techniques, and methods in the biometric field
- Write technical reports on the scientific analysis of comparisons
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and
- Provide outstanding customer service and support to State, Federal and Local Law Enforcement agencies, agents throughout the Department of Homeland Security and its mission partners
- Provide courtroom testimony which includes the preparation of charts, photographs, and other materials as needed
- Train less skilled fingerprint examiners in fingerprint examination and analysis as needed.
- Act as the verifier, providing Quality Assurance (QA) checks made by less skilled fingerprint examiners as needed
- Perform other related duties as needed
- Must be available weekends and/or holidays, if required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher/equivalent work experience in related field
- 3-7+ years of experience as a Latent Print Examiner
- Experience with preparing, searching, retrieving, analyzing, comparing, and evaluating both ten print and latent fingerprints using both automated tools as well as manual methodologies to make a determination of fingerprint matches
- Ability to work evening, weekend and/or holiday shifts, when required
- HYBRID (Must live within a commutable distance to Washington, D.C.)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
