Coordinate and lead laboratory support to ensure the efficient operation of a busy and modern laboratory conducting assays for research, preclinical and clinical studies in an accredited environment, focusing on the area of Inventory Management. Contribute to a high-quality team at 360biolabs complying with relevant standards, regulatory guidelines and SOPs.
Key Responsibilities Areas
The key responsibility areas (KRAs) are major outputs for which the position is responsible and not a comprehensive statement of all position activities.
Safety
Take a leading role in ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of laboratory activities, including oversight of dangerous goods handling, temperature monitoring responses, and laboratory OHS systems.
Maintain awareness of, and compliance to, relevant internal processes and statutory requirements.
Leadership
Provide oversight for the day-to-day priorities and operations of the Laboratory Support Team across the Burnet and St Kilda site and act as a key point of contact for inventory-related queries across company stakeholders.
Maintain a strong working relationship with other Laboratory Support Coordinators between all 360biolabs sites.
Maintain and collaborate well in a cross-functional matrix environment; maintain high levels of communication with the Lab Support Team, company stakeholder.
Maintain a productive relationship with suppliers, vendors and other partners.
Contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of new Laboratory Support team members.
Accreditation
Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 15189, OECD Principles of GLP, GCLP Principles, 360biolabs’ Quality Management System, and other requirements as per NATA Accreditation and regulatory guidelines.
Laboratory Inventory Management
Coordinate the management of all laboratory materials, including; consumable supplies, laboratory goods, reagents, critical compounds and dangerous goods.
Actively manage Environmental Monitoring Systems, including the responsibility of temperature report reviews and on-call duties.
Coordinate the management of import and export of non-clinical laboratory goods.
Take a leading role in identifying areas of improvement and development in the areas of the LIMs, Inventory Management workflow processes and supply management.
Training staff members in Laboratory Support responsibilities.
Assist, support and participate in internal and external audits, as required.
Laboratory Work
Maintain the laboratories in an efficient and well-organised manner.
Support Laboratory Assistants with day-to-day responsibilities, as required.
Support the Management of Equipment processes, including; procurement, onboarding, internal maintenance, external maintenance, record maintenance and decommissioning, as required.
Data analysis, Reporting and Document work
Prepare and review policies, SOPs, systems and procedures to assure the quality and integrity of service offerings at 360biolabs.
Maintain records (LIMS, database and paper) to levels consistent with relevant standards and industry expectations.
Professional Development
Attend meetings and training associated with and the work of 360biolabs.
Key Selection Criteria
Tertiary education in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience (Essential)
Experience / Knowledge / Attributes
Experience working in a quality-controlled environment preferably an accredited facility following ISO/IEC 17025, GLP or similar quality systems (Essential)
Experience working with Inventory Management and associated systems (Essential)
Excellent organisational and time-management skills (Essential)
Ability to work as part of a team (Essential)
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
Experience in handling clinical samples etc. (Essential)
