As one of IMI’s business sectors, Climate Control is a global provider in distribution systems and room temperature management. We work closely with our customers to optimise energy efficiency and enhance the performance of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, ensuring comfort and reliability in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to work within our R&D team in Füllinsdorf being part of the technology development for our advanced pressurization and degassing machines.

In this position you are responsible for continuously developing, upgrading and maintaining test programs and measuring equipment for our existing and future product portfolio. In addition, you will actively participate in new product development projects. The research and development areas are mainly around pressurization, water quality and vacuum degassing in HVAC application.

Your Key Responsibilities

Ü  Develop, upgrade, and maintain test rigs for our pressurization and degassing units.

Ü  Plan, execute, and document functional and life‑cycle tests for electro‑mechanical and hydraulic components of our products, including preparation of detailed test reports.

Ü  Prepare technical documentation, test procedures, and technical specifications in accordance with internal standards.

Ü  Collaborate closely with R&D colleagues and project team members to generate high‑quality technical work and reports.

Ü  Work interdisciplinary with other development departments and project groups across the organization.

Ü  Coordinate with suppliers regarding the procurement of new laboratory equipment and the upgrade of existing systems.

Ü  Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and adherence to established processes in compliance with health & safety regulations, fire protection standards, and environmental guidelines.

Your Qualifications and Experiences

Ü  Master’s degree in Mechatronics or a closely related field.

Ü  3+ years of experience in laboratory testing and/or automation; experience in HVAC systems is an advantage.

Ü  Solid knowledge of LabVIEW, test‑rig automation, electrical schematics, and related electronics, other programming languages a plus

Ü  In‑depth understanding of core HVAC components such as pumps, compressors, and valves

Ü  Practical experience with CAD tools (preferably Autodesk).

Ü  Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective procedures, methods, and tools.

Ü  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.

Ü  High level of organization, self‑initiative, and personal accountability.

Ü  Fluent in English (C1) and German (C1).
