As a Laboratory Assistant at LetsGetChecked, you will play a vital role in supporting licensed testing personnel as outlined in California Business Code 1269 regulations. You will assist with specimen management, pre-analytical and analytical processes, clerical duties, inventory control, and general laboratory upkeep — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in daily laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Specimen Processing and Handling

  • Adhere to the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing.
  • Log, distribute, and track patient samples from processing areas to testing departments.
  • Process and prepare various specimen types (e.g., whole blood, serum/plasma, dried blood, urine, saliva) prior to the analytical phase.
  • Load samples onto automated analyzers as required.

Laboratory Maintenance and Compliance

  • Perform and document routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and small equipment (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Ensure proper labeling of reagents, calibrators, and quality control materials.
  • Dispose of specimens and materials following safety and SOP guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with laboratory safety requirements.

Inventory and Documentation

  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining supply levels and inventory for the pre-analytical process.
  • Properly store and exit-scan samples in accordance with SOPs.
  • Ensure all documentation meets laboratory and regulatory standards.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Participate in daily team huddles and communicate effectively with other laboratory personnel.
  • Support the Accessioning department as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and recommend enhancements to the General Supervisor.
  • Report any potential hazards or safety concerns promptly.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the General Supervisor or licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

  • Ability to follow precise procedures and maintain accuracy under supervision.

Alongside base compensation of $17.50-$19.00/hour, we offer a range of benefits including:
