Join a new sales team at SumUp focusing on high-value merchants, driving innovative payment solutions in a competitive market.

Key Account Sales Executive – Barcelona

Team description

SumUp's Spain sales team is at the forefront of a bold move into the upmarket segment, targeting high-value merchants who need more than a basic payment solution. We're building a small, focused team of Key Account Sales Executives to win business from merchants with monthly transaction volumes above €40,000, displacing established competitors and setting the benchmark for multi-product sales across the region. This is a genuinely new motion for SumUp in Spain, and the person joining now will help shape how it's done.

What you'll do

  • Prospect for high-value merchant accounts across your territory using cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, field visits, events, and referrals
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of 50+ active opportunities, owning the full sales cycle from first contact through to activation and go-live
  • Displace competitor POS, kiosk, and card reader solutions by clearly articulating the value of SumUp's multi-product offering across multiple verticals
  • Work with a dedicated SDR to enrich prospect lists and ensure pipeline quality, maintaining strong Salesforce hygiene throughout
  • Build competitive intelligence in your territory, tracking competitor pricing, activity, and tactics to stay one step ahead

You'll be great for this role if…

  • Strong track record in outbound sales, including cold outreach and pipeline building from scratch
  • Experience selling payments, POS, or SaaS solutions to SMB merchants
  • Comfort working in a target-driven environment where consistency and resilience are essential
  • Ability to manage a structured sales cycle across multiple active opportunities at once
  • Fluency in Spanish (and ideally English) with strong communication and negotiation skills
