As a Key Account Manager in our dynamic DACH sales team, you’ll play a crucial role in nurturing and expanding long-term client partnerships. You’ll focus on developing and growing your own portfolio of enterprise clients, acting as their trusted advisor and ensuring Malt remains their preferred partner for top freelancing talent. With Germany being the largest economy in Europe, our ambition for Malt in DACH is huge. To succeed, you’ll bring a relationship-driven mindset, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering continuous value — consistently strengthening client loyalty and sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities ✨
Strategically nurture and grow a strong portfolio of enterprise accounts, including key “big bet” clients such as DAX40 and TECDAX companies.
Identify and engage potential clients via warm introductions, referrals, and existing networks, building long-term, trust-based relationships with stakeholders from CxOs to procurement and HR.
Develop and execute targeted commercial strategies, leveraging a solution-selling approach to expand existing partnerships while securing new business where relevant.
Onboard new large enterprise clients (>2,000 FTEs), collaborating with your network and the BDA team to ensure smooth integration and long-term success.
Gather and share structured market insights with product and marketing teams to support continuous improvement and client-oriented innovation.
Optimize CRM usage and partner with technical teams on demos and integrations to enhance client experience, while coaching the sales team on relationship-driven strategies.
About you 🧑🚀
You're an experienced professional with a university degree or comparable education and 3+ years in a B2B commercial role, e.g. as account manager or sales engineer. Ideally, you've thrived in recruitment (staffing, IT personnel services), SaaS, or IT & services.
You bring a relationship-driven, client-centric approach. You’re curious, thoughtful, and passionate about understanding client needs in depth. You enjoy developing existing accounts, fostering long-term partnerships, and driving sustainable revenue growth.
You're a fluent communicator and sharp negotiator in both German and English, effortlessly engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders.
Your strong networking skills help you deepen relationships within existing client organizations while identifying organic opportunities for expansion. You quickly grasp client needs and objectives, then craft and propose optimal solutions that align with a consultative, partnership-oriented sales cycle.
You possess a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation, driving initiatives quickly with an entrepreneurial mindset, strong sales planning, and superb organization.
