About the role

Fable is looking for a Junior UX Researcher who is responsible for identifying accessibility and usability insights through user interviews. This role involves regularly engaging with people with disabilities and requires a candidate who is sensitive, respectful and has a strong desire to learn.  

The Researcher will work closely with Fable team members to conduct research about how various digital product offerings can be improved for people with disabilities. An understanding of how various assistive technologies interact with digital products, and the web, is preferred.  

The ideal candidate is excellent at independent problem-solving, is detail oriented and adaptable to the growth and changes of a dynamic work environment. Fable is a rapidly growing and busy team; the researcher must be flexible to the changing business needs of Fable.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Support and collaborate with other UX researchers on generative and evaluative research with assistive technology users on digital products (such as websites, web-apps, mobile apps and software) on behalf of Fable’s customers 
  • Identify pain points, preferences, and behaviors surfaced in user interviews and document them in a structured note-taking tool 
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings to generate actionable insights  
  • Provide clear and timely project updates to Fable team members 
  • Maintain internal customer documentation and track deliverables via our project management system 
  • Collaborate with other Fable support teams to coordinate interviews with participants 

Key qualifications and assets

  • 1+ years facilitating user interviews on digital products in a UXR context 
  • Able to define research goals, articulate hypotheses and apply the best research methods for a wide range of problems 
  • Experience translating research findings into thematic insights 
  • Compassionate and patient demeanour with confidence and assertion to get things done 
  • Active listening and problem-solving skills 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to build relationships and connect with people quickly 
  • Organized and able to manage a large volume of tasks independently 
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate apps and software 
  • Strong analytical, communication and team skills

Pay range

$65,000 - $80,000 OTE - The salary band is designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and is subject to change. The final salary is based on relevant skills, experience, and internal equity. This posting reflects an existing vacancy.
