In North America, our presence is led by SourceKnowledge, a key pillar of the group focused on driving high-impact results through our Montreal-based engineering hub.We are looking for a motivated Junior Software Developer to join the SourceKnowledge team during a pivotal phase of our platform's evolution. Working directly under our Engineering Manager, you will help build and maintain large-scale applications handling RTB, CPC, and deep-link traffic. This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience as we migrate to Kubernetes (EKS) and upgrade our core stack to the latest Symfony versions.
Backend: PHP 8+ (Symfony 5.4 moving toward current)
Frontend: React / TypeScript
Infrastructure: Kubernetes (EKS), AWS ECS, Docker
Data & Caching: MariaDB, Valkey/Redis
Tools: Kubectl, Kubeseal, Helm, and Just
Feature Development: Write clean, testable PHP and Symfony code for our core AdTech services.
Modernization: Assist in the migration of legacy services into Kubernetes-native workloads using EKS.
Front-End Integration: Develop responsive components in React/TypeScript to interface with our backend APIs.
Secret Management: Learn to use tools like Sealed Secrets to handle sensitive data securely within our GitOps workflow.
Sprints & Collaboration: Participate in Sprints under our SCRUM Master, contributing to ticket refinement and team goals.
Code Quality: Engage in extensive code reviews to learn best practices and maintain high standards.
Experience: Fresh graduate to 3 years of professional software development experience.
PHP Foundation: Solid understanding of object-oriented PHP; familiarity with the Symfony framework is a major plus.
Database Skills: Ability to write and optimize SQL queries (MariaDB/MySQL).
Container Awareness: Basic knowledge of Docker; exposure to Kubernetes or AWS is highly desirable.
AdTech Interest: Curious about Real-Time Bidding (RTB) and high-throughput system architecture.
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Eligibility: Must be currently located in and legally eligible to work in Canada.
You will be mentored by a seasoned Engineering Manager and work alongside a global team (including our offshore experts in Vietnam). This role offers a unique "hands-on" education in DevOps-heavy software engineering, where you won't just write code—you'll help orchestrate the infrastructure it runs on.
