Junior Project Manager - Commercial HVAC Projects

We are hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects in a hands-on subcontractor environment. This role is designed for someone ready to grow into a Project Manager, with increasing ownership of project execution over time.

You’ll work closely with field teams, vendors, and project leadership to support HVAC installations, piping systems, and day-to-day coordination from preconstruction through closeout. This is a strong opportunity for a junior PM or Project Engineer looking to step into a long-term project management track within a fast-paced contractor setting.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of commercial HVAC and mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Assist with coordinating field crews, subcontractors, and internal teams across active job sites
• Track project schedules, costs, and progress, escalating issues when needed
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Coordinate with vendors and support procurement of materials and equipment
• Communicate with clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to keep projects moving
• Participate in jobsite visits to support field operations and monitor progress

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction (APM, Project Engineer, or similar role)

• Exposure to commercial HVAC systems (residential-only experience will not be considered)

• Background with a mechanical contractor, HVAC subcontractor, or similar environment

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

• Strong interest in growing into a Project Manager role

• Basic understanding of scheduling and cost tracking tools

• Comfortable in a hands-on, small to mid-sized contractor environment

• Strong communication and organizational skills
