About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Power Electronics Test Engineer to join our Electronics Team. This role is the critical bridge between our Electronics, Test & Integration, and Manufacturing teams. You will own the testing, debugging, and validation of power conversion systems—from building test benches to diagnosing field failures.

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate power electronics test benches
  • Execute functional, performance, and stress testing on motor drives and power products (AC/DC, DC/AC, DC/DC)
  • Perform lab measurements to validate design performance—voltage, current, power, efficiency, switching waveforms, thermal, and EMI
  • Support Manufacturing and Test & Integration teams with hardware troubleshooting
  • Diagnose failed field equipment and conduct root cause analysis
  • Create and execute test plans and procedures
  • Document results, failures, and corrective actions
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure safe testing practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Coursework or hands-on experience in power electronics
  • Understanding of basic power electronic converters
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets
  • Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, electronic loads
  • Understanding of electrical safety for high-voltage systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of PCB design and layout

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with motor drives in a lab environment
  • Knowledge of motor drive control theory
  • Lab experience with low-voltage power systems (up to 1000V)
  • Internship/co-op experience in hardware testing
  • Soldering skills (passives, basic ICs)
  • Professional PCB design experience in Altium
  • NI LabVIEW experience
