Requirements and responsibilities

Are you passionate about networking and ready to kick-start your career in IT infrastructure? At Nice, we're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented L1 Network Engineer to join our growing remote team. You’ll be the first line of defense—monitoring, identifying, and resolving network issues before they escalate.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow in the field of networking. You'll work closely with ISPs, internal teams, and senior engineers to keep our systems running smoothly.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor ISP connections for performance, stability, and uptime;
  • Engage with Internet Service Providers to log tickets, escalate issues, and track resolution progress;
  • Maintain visibility over core network links and respond swiftly to alerts and anomalies;
  • Configure and monitor SD-WAN environments to ensure seamless connectivity across distributed locations;
  • Perform basic configuration and troubleshooting of peripheral network devices such as switches, routers, access points, and firewalls;
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and procedures;
  • Provide Level 1 troubleshooting support for connectivity issues and escalate complex issues as needed;
  • Assist in network change management, including scheduled updates and device restarts;
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in monitoring and alerting systems.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience);
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Subnetting, VLANs;
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking hardware and tools (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, etc.);
  • Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and logs;
  • Strong communication skills—especially when working with ISPs and remote teams;
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including being part of an on-call rotation, night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA or equivalent certification (or in progress);
  • 2 Year Technical degree or On going 4 year computer science or equivalent;
  • Experience with SD-WAN solutions and cloud-based network monitoring tools;
  • Exposure to scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for basic network automation;
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems like Jira, ServiceNow, or similar;
  • Previous experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar support role.
