Location: Remote, South Africa

Reports to: Legal Counsel - Mining Solutions

What You’ll Do:

Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g., supplier, service, distribution, confidentiality agreements).

Corporate Governance:

  • Assist in preparing board and shareholder resolutions, minutes, and maintaining statutory records.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Monitor and advise on compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., Companies Act, POPIA, Labour Laws). Support legal aspects of regional projects and international agreements where required.

Legal Advisory:

  • Provide day-to-day legal advice to business units on operational matters.

Dispute Resolution:

  • Support litigation management and liaise with external counsel when required.

Legal Research:

  • Conduct research on laws, regulations, and case precedents relevant to the company’s operations.

 Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess legal risks in business transactions and recommend mitigation strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum:  LLB degree from a recognized South African university.
  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
  • 1–3 years post-articles experience in a corporate or law firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of South African corporate and commercial law.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
