The Junior IT Product Development & Support Specialist is an early-career role focused primarily on developing internal IT products, automation, and solutions that improve efficiency across BwB’s technology environment. Approximately 70% of the role will be dedicated to product development and programming, with the remaining 30% supporting day-to-day IT operations.
This role is ideal for a technically curious graduate or junior professional looking to build real-world development experience while gaining exposure to modern IT systems in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Engineering
Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of internal IT tools, applications, and automation solutions.
Write, test, and maintain clean, well-documented code under the guidance of senior team members.
Develop scripts and small applications to automate repetitive IT and business processes.
Support the integration of internal systems, Microsoft 365 services, third-party tools, and the BwB website.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to improve software quality and reliability.
Learn and apply secure coding practices and basic system architecture principles.
Maintain and improve existing internal solutions, fixing bugs and implementing enhancements.
IT Support & Operations
Provide first-line and second-line IT support to the BwB team, troubleshooting hardware, software, and system issues.
Support Microsoft 365 users, including account setup, permissions, and basic security configuration.
Assist with maintaining and updating the BwB website using WIX.
Support macOS (OSX 10–11) and Windows (10–11) environments in a fully remote setup.
Escalate complex issues appropriately while ensuring timely resolution.
Document solutions, processes, and common support issues to support knowledge sharing.
While BwB operates across multiple time zones, the primary internal stakeholders for this role are based in the UK and EU, with responsiveness expected during these business hours.

Experience & Skills
Foundational experience in at least one programming or scripting language (academic or commercial).
Strong interest in software development, automation, and building internal tools.
Essential experience using Microsoft Office 365.
Working knowledge of macOS and Windows operating systems.
Experience supporting users in a remote or hybrid environment (internships or placements acceptable).
Basic understanding of software development lifecycle concepts.
Willingness to learn system security best practices and data protection principles.
Good troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage tasks, follow guidance, and meet deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Graduate or near-graduate qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (e.g. B.Tech, BCA, or equivalent).
