We are recruiting on behalf out our client, an SME growing, family run business, based in Derby, seeking a Junior Estimator to join their dynamic team. In this role, you'll handle incoming enquiries, set up project files, and support supplier interactions. As you gain experience, you will take on more responsibilities, including estimating for air conditioning, ventilation, and extraction systems. This position offers comprehensive on-the-job training, including site visits and manufacturer facility tours, ensuring you have the tools to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acknowledge and review new enquiries
  • Set up new project files
  • Request and negotiate supplier quotations
  • Arrange and minute meetings, follow up on action points
  • Update target documentation and run reports
  • Schedule and conduct site surveys
  • Prepare and send estimates, incorporating value engineering options
  • Perform follow-up calls within 24 hours of sending estimates
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline
  • Collaborate with the project management team for seamless project handovers
  • Attend weekly learning sessions and share ideas

Requirements

  • UK driving license required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Some estimating or construction experience preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a proactive approach
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
