Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is: The company was established in 2018 and has grown to be a multifaceted contractor in the commercial building sector across multiple disciplines of Electrical and Communications. They work on medium sized projects across commercial projects and are expanding our Estimating team and are looking for a Junior Electrical Estimator to join us to work with our parent company.

Role Overview: You will play a key role in assisting our onshore team in putting together electrical & communications estimates and bids across medium-to-large-scale projects in Victoria, Australia.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Use estimating software to generate estimates in a timely and accurate manner
  • Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Meeting client deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and documents to determine project scope.
  • Preparing bill of quantities to send to suppliers for project pricing
  • Developing competitive bid proposals that align with project specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills—efficient, independent, and calm under pressure

Requirements

Trade qualified (preferred) within the electrical field with good knowledge of communications and be driven to deliver exceptional results.

Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

  • 2+ years in electrical estimating.
  • Worked on multiple projects at a minimum value of $2m.
  • Results driven with strong attention to detail.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Simpro & Groundplan experience (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Australian Electrical Standards and Building Codes (preferred)
