EC Suite has supported thousands of small and medium-sized businesses, specialising in providing merchants with diverse and flexible products. Our product offerings include credit card and ACH processing, e-commerce and point of sale solutions, and chargeback and risk management programmes.
As a Junior Underwriter, you will be responsible for processing merchant account applications on a daily basis. Your drive, experience and attention to detail will be critical in ensuring merchant applications are processed accurately and in a timely manner. You will perform quality assurance, risk assessments, required document gathering and handling of the end-to-end merchant application process. You will work closely with our Merchant Account Underwriter, referral partners, bank partners, and our sales and boarding teams. This employee is responsible for serving a support role and working alongside Underwriting and Boarding Support, with the opportunity to become a regular term underwriter.
Working hours: 40h/week, Monday-Friday, 3-11pm CET
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support for Underwriting, and Merchant Boarding during the merchant onboarding process
- Verify and confirm all necessary documentation required for the merchant application in accordance with the Underwriting policy
- Conduct and assist with underwriting due diligence in accordance with the Underwriting policy
- Conduct credit and risk analysis of existing merchants to review credit risk and determine reserve balance adjustments
- Monitor high-risk merchants to ensure compliance with bank and card brand rules
- Communicate with the Underwriter on decision-making of merchant account approvals
- Efficiently use Iris and TSYS systems for all updated account tracking according to all company policies at all times.
- Maintain strong decision-making skills in accordance with all policies & procedures.
- Establish & maintain positive, professional relationships on an ongoing basis with all professional contacts.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of card brand underwriting industry experience (Preferred, not required)
- Knowledge of CRM, MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
- Knowledge of the payments industry, website analysis, and Visa and MasterCard rules and regulations.
- 2 or more years of customer service experience, which include strong writing and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make real-time, informed decisions
- Ability to be self-motivated and exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees/management.
- Ability to stay focused on the task at hand, ensuring that timelines are met and operations are not adversely impacted.
