Junior Data Engineer

Job title: Jr. Data Engineer

Reports to: Analytics Solution Manager

Department: Engineering

Location: (Middle East and Africa) Remote

Job Overview:

Collaborate with other team members and roles to implement and deliver data solutions including but not limited to data sources pipeline, data processing, reports, and data web APIs. As a data engineer, will be involved in defining and applying engineering standards and best practices as well as Identifying, troubleshooting and resolving production data
issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Build metadata for various data feeds.
• Build basic feed ingestion models to integrate with data sources.
• Using the product capabilities to configure basic web APIs.
• Configure and deploy tools.
• Handel basic development tasks and scripting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production data issues.
  

Qualifications:

• You possess at least a BS in Computer Science or related field.
• Technical background with 0 to 2 years of relevant experience as a Data Engineering
•  You have experience in SQL development, and in building report and dashboards.
• Good understanding of BI – Data warehouse DB Concepts
• You have a structured approach to development (measuring, monitoring, and testing)
• You possess a good understanding in programming and OOP concepts.
• Previous experience with Bigdata is a plus.
•  Previous experience with Telcom domain is plus.
•  Cloud Data Engineer, Data Analysis or any Cloud related experience is a plus.

Technical Skills:

SQL Queries, OOP (Object Oriented Programming),Spark, Linux, Web API usage, Kafka, Scala, Hadoop Basic Operations, Hadoop Solution Components, SQL Aggregations and Python / Shell Script, Shell, Regular expressions, BI - Data warehouse DB concepts, GitHub, Jenkins, Talend and Nifi
