Junior Culinary Administrative Support (Temporary)

AI overview

Support the onboarding of chefs by accurately entering and managing chef-created recipes within internal systems, ensuring operational efficiency and quality.

About CookUnity:

Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, it has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 50 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

About the Team:

We support the onboarding of chefs and their recipes into the CookUnity platform. Our focus is on translating chef-created recipes into accurate, structured data within our internal systems so meals can move efficiently from concept to production. This team sits at the intersection of culinary creativity and operational execution, ensuring every recipe is entered correctly, consistently, and on time.

About the Role:

As a Junior Culinary Administrative Support, you will focus on the accurate entry and setup of new chef recipes within CookUnity’s internal recipe management systems. This is an execution-focused role designed for someone early in their culinary or food operations career who enjoys detailed, process-driven work.

Working from clearly defined inputs and established processes, you’ll enter recipes into CookUnity’s systems and perform structured checks to ensure accuracy across key data points, including ingredient lists, recipe yields, portioning, cost inputs, and nutritional fields. You’ll follow standard workflows to validate information, flag inconsistencies, and prepare complete, system-ready recipes for handoff to downstream teams.

This is a remote, part-time, temporary position. The role requires approximately 4 hours per day, with a schedule that overlaps with U.S. West Coast working hours, for an estimated 3-month duration.

Responsibilities

Chef & Internal Communication

  • Respond to occasional inbound questions from chefs related to recipe submissions, clarifying inputs needed for accurate recipe entry
  • Collect, organize, and validate recipe information provided by chefs to support timely onboarding
  • Provide administrative and reporting support to the Chef Success team and other internal stakeholders as needed

Recipe Entry & System Setup

  • Calculate and enter scalable recipe yields and portioning based on provided inputs
  • Perform structured recipe input reviews to ensure accuracy across ingredients, quantities, yields, cost-related fields, and nutritional data
  • Identify and flag discrepancies, missing information, or inconsistencies for follow-up
  • Submit new recipes, recipe edits, and new ingredient SKUs for downstream review and approval
  • Ensure recipe records are complete, consistent, and system-ready for handoff to downstream teams

Qualifications

  • English fluency required
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately collect, enter, and review data
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic culinary or food industry experience (e.g., culinary school, production kitchen, food manufacturing, QA, nutrition support, or similar)
  • Comfort working with structured processes and following detailed instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Experience using digital tools such as spreadsheets, internal systems, and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with internal teams and chefs in a professional, task-focused manner
  • Organized, reliable, and proactive in completing assigned work

Minimum Requirements:

  • English fluency

  • Comfort following defined processes and workflows
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional, patient, and respectful when working with internal partners and chefs

Preferred requirements:
