The role: We are looking for a skilled and proactive Junior Credit Specialist to join our Finance AR & Credit Controlling team. The ideal candidate will support credit management activities by monitoring customer payment behavior, performing preliminary credit checks, and assisting in collection efforts. This role is ideal for someone with strong negotiation skills, eager to grow, take ownership of daily credit-related activities, and progressively develop expertise in credit risk assessment and collection processes.
What will you do:
Support the credit assessment process by gathering financial information and performing preliminary credit checks on new and existing customers.
Monitor outstanding receivables to identify overdue accounts and support timely follow‑up actions.
Assist in collection activities, including contacting customers, tracking payment commitments, and updating internal systems.
Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Finance) to resolve billing or payment issues impacting collections.
Maintain accurate and updated records of customer credit profiles, payment behavior, and collection status in company systems.
Requirements:
Background: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
Experience: 1-2 years in the role, preferably within international manufacturing environment.
Professional Skills: Knowledge of accounting principles, credit control practices and risk management.
IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems.
Language Skills: English proficiency (B2/C1) is mandatory; additional languages (e.g., French) are a plus.
Soft Skills: Analytical mindset, excellent communication and negotiation skills, proactive and organized.
Details:
Location: Gallarate (VA), Italy – with the possibility to work from home up to 2 days per week (optional).
Working hours: Full time, 40h/week, from Monday to Friday. You can start your day between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., enjoy a lunch break of 1 to 1.5 hours anytime between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m., and wrap up your workday starting from 5:00 pm while completing a full 8-hour workday.
