The Junior Compliance Officer supports the overarching compliance function by assisting in the implementation and ongoing management of the company's compliance monitoring plan. This includes helping to ensure adherence to various MiFID and broader EU regulations through active participation in monitoring activities, assisting with the deployment of compliance initiatives, supporting the preparation of compliance reports, and collaborating with internal teams to uphold regulatory standards.

The role is focused on providing direct support to senior compliance personnel, contributing to the identification and escalation of compliance risks, and helping to disseminate regulatory updates and guidance within the organization.

This role is subject to PQ approval by the MFSA. We are open to candidates who have already gone through this process, as well as to those who haven’t yet, but meet the formal criteria and are open to going through it with our support.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Assist in implementing and managing the compliance monitoring plan of the company
Support the deployment of the compliance monitoring plan throughout the calendar year
Help ensure compliance with various MiFID requirements and regulations
Monitor activities related to compliance, under supervision
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with compliance standards
Stay informed about regulatory changes and assist in communicating updates to relevant parties
Assist in preparing compliance reports for management
Support in addressing any compliance issues or concerns
Participate in regular audits and assessments to identify and address compliance risks
Support in providing training and guidance to employees on compliance matters as needed

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or related field
3-4 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory support role, preferably within the financial services industry
Basic understanding of MiFID requirements and regulations
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with a good level of accuracy
Certification in Compliance or related fields is a plus
