Junior Chemist

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled work on time, within budget, and strictly adhering to specifications.
• Understand the underlying chemical and physical principles of all procedures before commencement.
• Monitor all reactions effectively to ensure flawless work-up of complete reactions.
• Report any batch failures or unexpected results immediately to the Senior Chemist II / Chemistry Manager and discuss in the weekly Chemistry Meeting.
• Contribute to writing and revising detailed procedures to ensure high standards.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all work conducted.
• Align with all environmental, health, and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment

Meet key performance indicators, including:

• Percentage of scheduled batches per month that are submitted to QC punctually.
• Number of batches meeting specification (yield and QCS specification) as a percentage of scheduled batches per month.
• Timely completion of batches.
• Efficiency tracked by the count of batches/reactions completed by each chemist monthly.

Person Specification

We are looking for an enthusiastic Chemist with proven communication skills and strong attention to detail. You should be flexible and capable of adapting to changing operating conditions while maintaining a highly organised and methodical approach to your work.
