The Role & The Team
At Plum we’re looking for Junior Backend Engineers who are passionate about both technology but also about bringing the best product to our customers.

To achieve this mission we’re looking for engineers who not only have a strong technical background but who also understand the product and are able to make an impact on all the steps of the projects.

Our teams are mission-driven, comprising Product Managers, Designers, and engineers across Backend and Mobile, all working together to build and maintain high-impact products and services that provide an exceptional user experience. Squads are organized around key business areas, and we rely on data-driven, autonomous teams that take ownership of their work.

What you'll be doing:

• Build features that don’t just work, they make sense for users, the business, and the long term
• Work on meaningful projects from start to finish, thinking about user flows, edge cases, and trade-offs
• Partner with Product Managers and Designers early in the process, not just to build things right, but to help define what right looks like
• Ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and bring your own perspective to product discussions
• Write clear, maintainable code that solves the real problem
• Join product reviews, sketch ideas, and contribute beyond the code when you’ve got ideas
• Learn fast, give and get feedback, and grow into someone who sees the whole product

What we are looking for:

• A growing engineer with a few projects under your belt and a drive to deepen your skills
• You care about how users experience the product
• Comfortable with technical problem solving and interested in building scalable solutions
• A strong communicator who collaborates well and isn’t afraid to ask questions or challenge ideas constructively
• Enthusiastic about learning from others and contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture
• Organized, reliable, and able to manage your workload in a fast-moving environment

What to Expect from Our Hiring Process
At Plum, we value a lot the time you devote to the hiring process, this is why we are always trying to make the process as fast and smooth as possible.

1.  30 min. Call with our Talent Acquisition Team. So we understand better your career plan, tell you more about Plum and the role
2. 45 min. Call with our Engineering Lead. Brief technical discussion about the role and your skills
3. 120 min. Live Coding Call with our Engineers, including System Design exercise and an Implementation phase
4. 30 min. Team Call with a Product Manager and a Senior Manager from Engineering, for you to understand the business and envision yourself as part of Plum
