Your Role
We're not hiring for a traditional marketing role, and we're not hiring for a traditional engineering role either. We're hiring an AI Marketing Engineer: a recent graduate who already thinks in systems, builds with AI, and would rather automate a workflow than do it manually twice.
You'll work directly under the Senior Director of Marketing to build the AI-native tooling, automations, and data infrastructure that powers TrustFlight's go-to-market. You'll sit at the intersection of Marketing, Sales, Product, and Customer Operations, building the internal systems and data flows that connect these teams and make them faster.
Your job is to build the internal marketing tooling that amplifies our demand generation efforts. Not to run campaigns yourself. Not to write customer-facing product code. To engineer the systems that let marketers operate at AI-native speed.
This is a build-it-yourself role where you'll get mentorship, code reviews, and direct access to executive leadership. You'll be working on AI agents, marketing automation, data pipelines, and internal tooling in an industry that actually matters. If you want to grow fast by delivering real work, read on.
What you’ll be doing
Build Marketing Tooling & Automation
Build and maintain AI-native marketing automations under the direction of the Senior Director of Marketing, covering lead scoring, content generation, campaign orchestration, attribution, and reporting, using agentic systems and light scripting.
Build and maintain integrations across the marketing technology stack (primarily HubSpot): API connections, scheduled jobs, webhooks, and data syncs that keep the marketing stack running reliably.
Build the data pipelines and tooling that power the Demand Generation Manager's campaigns: automation, segmentation, tracking, and reporting.
Stand up marketing dashboards and reporting tools that give leadership real-time visibility into funnel performance and campaign ROI.
Cross-Functional Interface
Sales: Gather requirements on lead handoff and feedback loops, then build the integrations that connect marketing-sourced leads to sales outcomes in the CRM.
Revenue Operations: Implement shared data definitions and reporting standards in HubSpot and connected tools, and keep CRM data flowing reliably between systems.
Product: Wire product usage data and lifecycle signals into the marketing stack — building the integrations that feed product activity into lead scoring, segmentation, attribution, and nurture campaigns.
Customer Operations: Build the data flows and automation that power customer marketing motions — expansion triggers, adoption nurture, and renewal signals wired into the marketing stack.
Demand Generation Manager: Deliver the tooling, data, and automation that make demand gen programmes scalable and measurable.
Grow as a Marketing Engineer
Develop your craft in marketing systems design, automation, and AI tooling, with mentorship from the Senior Director of Marketing and the broader GTM leadership team.
Contribute technical and data-backed recommendations to how the marketing stack is built and operated, earning ownership of larger pieces of the marketing tech and data infrastructure.
Grow with the function as it scales, with a clear pathway from graduate Marketing Engineer to Senior Marketing Engineer / Marketing Engineering Lead.
Requirements
What you’ll bring
Must-haves
Recent graduate or 0–2 years of experience in computer science, engineering, marketing, business, data, or a related field
Hands-on AI experimentation. You've built real things with AI: agents, automations, scripts, data tools, content pipelines, or analytics workflows. School projects, hackathons, side projects, and personal builds all count. "I use ChatGPT" does not.
Experience with AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar) — you're comfortable letting AI write code and reviewing what it produces
Technical comfort. You're not afraid of APIs, basic SQL, or light scripting (Python, JavaScript, n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar). University coursework, internships, and personal projects all count
Critical eye for AI output. You know AI gets things wrong, and you check before shipping
Systems thinker. You spot patterns, prefer to automate repetitive work, and ask "how does this actually work?" before "what should it look like?"
Curious about marketing. Even if it's not your degree, you've shown interest in how marketing works through projects, internships, content, or experimentation
Coachable and low-ego. You want to learn from experienced leadership while shipping quickly, and you ask for help before you get stuck
Strong advantages
Internship or co-op in marketing operations, growth, RevOps, GTM, or developer tools
Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM / marketing automation platforms
Experience with data enrichment tools (Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Clearbit)
A portfolio — GitHub, personal site, or written examples of systems and automations you've built
Background or interest in aviation, aerospace, defence, or other regulated industries
What This Role Is — and Isn't
It is
A hands-on building role with mentorship, code review, and direct access to executive leadership
An entry point into marketing engineering — a discipline that didn't exist five years ago and is fast becoming one of the most valuable functions in B2B SaaS
A real growth opportunity. Deliver results and your scope expands quickly, with a clear pathway from graduate Marketing Engineer to Senior Marketing Engineer or Marketing Engineering Lead
A role that builds rare crossover expertise: AI engineering plus marketing fundamentals — a combination that gets more valuable every year
It isn't
A traditional software engineering role — you're not building customer-facing product
A traditional marketing role — you're not running campaigns, writing copy, or managing events
A role where you'll be siloed into one function — you'll build the systems that underpin Marketing, Sales, RevOps, Product, and Customer Operations
A role where you're set up to figure everything out alone — you'll have mentorship from senior leadership and the time to learn
What You'll Learn
You'll be joining a marketing leadership team with deep experience across the full spectrum of B2B marketing. As you grow in this role, you'll get hands-on exposure to disciplines that will round you out as a complete marketing engineer:
• Marketing operations — lead scoring, attribution, segmentation, and lifecycle automation at enterprise scale
• Demand generation — how qualified pipeline is built, measured, and optimised end-to-end
• Customer marketing — expansion, adoption, and renewal motions that drive net revenue retention
• Brand and positioning — managing a multi-brand architecture across four capability pillars with distinct audiences
• Enterprise sales enablement — the data and tooling that supports complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
• International marketing operations — executing across 120+ countries with varying regulatory environments
At the same time, you'll be building the GTM engine for a platform serving 1,600+ organisations in one of the most safety-critical industries globally. The market position is strong, the technology is proven, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact from day one is real. If you're looking to build AI-powered GTM systems and scalable data infrastructure rather than manage manual processes, this is a role where your work will genuinely matter.
