The Position:

We are seeking a skilled Junior Software Development Engineer with experience in Python, AWS, and coding best practices. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in software development and cloud computing, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable software solutions that power our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using Python.
  • Utilize AWS services to build, deploy, and manage applications in the cloud.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and ship new features.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with guidance from senior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain current and competitive.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Who You Are:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Experience with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, or ECS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Understanding of version control systems (Git).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with web development technologies such as Node.js, React, Vue.js, or similar.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
  • Experience with cloud data engineering principles and Python-based data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or similar.
  • Knowledge of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.

For candidates based in our San Diego office, the salary range is $121,000 - 132,000.

For candidates working remote (US), the salary range is $113,000 - 130,000.

 

 

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
