Artificial Intelligence is our reality.  Job Purpose As a Back-end Engineer, you will contribute to developing scalable back-end services and APIs that power modern applications. You will work with microservices architectures, integrate with diverse database systems including graph and relational databases, and deploy solutions on cloud infrastructure. Working in an agile, client-focused environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams while growing your expertise in back-end development and cloud technologies. Key Accountabilities Back-End Services Development Develop and maintain microservices using Java/Kotlin Spring Boot Build RESTful APIs that effectively serve front-end applications and integrate with external systems Implement business logic and data access layers following established patterns and best practices Debug and troubleshoot complex issues in production environments and contribute to system reliability Database Integration & Development Work with graph (e.g., Neo4j) and relational (e.g., MySQL) database technologies to implement data access patterns Develop efficient queries and database operations for different data models and access patterns Implement data validation, transformation, and migration procedures Contribute to database schema design and optimization efforts Cloud Development & Deployment Deploy and maintain applications on cloud infrastructure using modern cloud platforms, particularly AWS Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure application health and performance Work with containerized deployments using technologies like Docker and cloud container services Contribute to infrastructure as code practices and automated deployment pipelines Collaborative Engineering & Growth Work closely with senior engineers, front-end developers, and other team members to deliver integrated solutions Participate actively in agile ceremonies and contribute to technical planning and estimation Engage in code reviews, pair programming sessions, and knowledge-sharing to improve skills and code quality Continuously learn and adapt to new back-end technologies and cloud services Documentation & Quality Assurance Create and maintain technical documentation including API documentation, database schemas, and integration guides Ensure back-end solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security, reliability) through testing and quality best practices Knowledge and Experience 7+ years of practical experience in back-end development with solid proficiency in Java or Kotlin Spring Boot Working knowledge of graph databases (preferably Neo4j) and relational databases (preferably MySQL) Experience with AWS cloud services and understanding of cloud deployment and scaling concepts Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs; understanding of microservices architecture Familiarity with version control systems and agile development practices Experience with containerization (Docker), serverless concepts, orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines Good English communication skills and ability to work effectively in collaborative team environments Relevant certifications are a plus Personal Attributes Passion: Eagerness to learn and grow across multiple technical domains Curiosity: Enthusiastic about exploring new technologies and development approaches Resilience: Positive attitude with the ability to learn from challenges and feedback Problem-solving: Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality Collaboration: Enjoys working in diverse, cross-functional teams Empathy: Understands others’ perspectives and needs within the team and organization Integrity: Demonstrates honesty, ethics, and transparency in all interactions Growth-mindset: Committed to continuous learning and developing new skills Adaptability: Open to adjusting skillsets and embracing emerging technologies as needs evolve
