Java Backend Engineer (High-Load Systems)

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our R&D team and work on the core backend infrastructure of our security platform.

Our servers power building and vehicle security systems and mobile applications that communicate with the platform in real time. The system is already in production and continuously evolving as the number of connected devices and integrations grows.

In this role you will :

• Design and develop backend services in Java,
• build and maintain REST APIs,
• work with SQL databases, and address challenges related to performance, scalability, reliability, and long-running connections.

You will work on real systems that operate continuously and require stable, well-engineered backend architecture.

We are expanding the backend team to strengthen the platform and share ownership of a system that is already running in production and growing.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience developing backend systems with Java (Java 8 or newer).
• Experience developing REST APIs and server-side services.
• Experience with ORM solutions (Hibernate or similar).
• Experience using build tools (Maven or Gradle).
• Experience working with SQL databases (MySQL or other DBMS).
• Experience developing or maintaining high-load backend systems.
• Strong understanding of OOP principles, system architecture, and software design.
• Experience modernizing or migrating legacy systems (e.g., upgrading to newer Java versions).
• Experience with Git and working with code reviews.

Nice to Have

• Experience with GWT (Google Web Toolkit).
• Experience optimizing high-load systems (performance tuning).
• Experience working with legacy systems.
• Experience writing test cases and testing scenarios.
• Understanding of binary logic fundamentals.

  Salary:

We appreciate everyone's efforts and experiences, so we offer an attractive salary that will match your skillset and expertise in the field. The salary for this position ranges from 24 Eur/h up to 35 Eur/h (~4000 Eur – ~5840 Eur) pre-tax, depending on your experience and expertise.
