Role Overview

As part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) team, the consultant will support end users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues. The role involves direct interaction with customers and vendors—both over the phone and in person—to ensure timely issue resolution. Responsibilities also include supporting a large, distributed environment consisting of approximately 2,800+ desktops, 100+ laptops, and 400+ networked printers/multi-function devices across various locations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Desktop Support & Deployment

  • Perform imaging, deployment, and maintenance of workstation devices.

  • Extensive experience with GHOST 8.0+ required; familiarity with FOG (Free Open Ghost) is a plus.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve PC hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools.

  • Rebuild machines, restore configurations, and ensure user-specific settings are properly applied.

  • Install and support software releases ranging from basic to moderately complex.

Technical Troubleshooting

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve workstation, application, and peripheral problems.

  • Initiate repairs by coordinating with vendors when needed.

  • Install, maintain, and modify network components, PC hardware, and related software.

Network & Systems Support

  • Assist with implementation and upgrades of system and network hardware/software.

  • Install and configure terminal emulation tools for host connectivity.

  • Provide LAN support across multiple user locations.

General Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain clear communication with end users.

  • Document work performed and ensure ticketing records are updated.

  • Perform related IT support tasks as needed.

Active Directory Administration

Extensive experience with GHOST 8.0+ required; familiarity with FOG (Free Open Ghost) is a plus.
