About This Role

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking an IT Operations Engineer who will be responsible for supporting a wide scope of IT operations and business technology programs that underpin Axsome’s business objectives. This position will handle multiple hardware, software, and infrastructure activities throughout the organization while supporting the IT Group’s operational goals and objectives.

This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles. 

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist with daily IT operations tasks, supporting Axsome’s technology infrastructure and applications at HQ and all remote employees; provide day-to-day hands-on customer IT support
  • Resolve technical problems involving hardware, software, communications, cloud apps and private networks
  • Gather business requirements and implement creative technical solutions to solve business problems, utilizing advanced knowledge of Windows, iOS, Android, Azure, AWS, and Service Management tools
  • Assist with onboarding of new hires in operation of standard hardware, mobile devices and peripherals, and supporting a wide variety of escalated Tier 2/3 service tickets for internal staff
  • Work with and maintain Microsoft Admin and Security best practices, including SSO (Okta and Entra), broad endpoint management and monitoring suites and PowerShell scripting
  • Support internal warehousing including hardware, software, peripherals, and other IT assets
  • Support Axsome business and technology applications including Field iOS applications, the full Microsoft 365 stack, Forms and PowerAutomate, our Service Management platform and project planning solutions
  • Support AV setup and troubleshooting, ongoing office configuration and physical access platforms
  • Provide Executive IT support (Mac and Windows)
  • Remain up to date on emerging technologies and their potential utility
  • Establish and renovate IT operational processes and knowledge articles
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or related field and four years related experience, or a combination of equivalent experience, training, and education
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Operations or DevOps roles
  • Proven systems administration expertise (e.g. Okta SSO, Entra, M365, RMM systems, MDM platforms)
  • Proven security understanding
  • Ability to work on site at least three days a week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience troubleshooting systems and A/V hardware and software, supporting all-level ticket resolution, utilizing service management tools such as JIRA and Freshworks
  • Cloud platform experience – Microsoft required, and additionally, Amazon Web Services and other cloud-based technologies administration experience preferred
  • Experience with troubleshooting Windows, iOS, and Android devices in a medium sized organization
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft stack (Microsoft Office, Azure, Entra, Intune, Endpoint security platforms)
  • Experience with Apple Business Manager administration
  • Experience working in a life sciences company or a fast-paced startup environment preferred
  • Comfortable under pressure, confident in their ability, and comfortable with escalating issues to management as needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate and simplify complex technology topics and procedures with team members
  • Hands on and motivated self-starter, with a passion for learning and discovery

Salary and Benefits:

The anticipated salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Axsome offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, significant equity and a generous benefits package.
