The IT intern will perform hands-on to support the team’s daily functions and will gain exposure to many different IT disciplines. This position will also gain real customer service and communication skills by interacting with a diverse set of individuals from all of Chief’s brands and subsidiaries. This position requires 20 minimum hours per week, with a review internship status after 6 months, and requires in-office/onsite presence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop customer service skills through daily communication with end users via email, phone, and walk-ins.
  • Create, update, and close help desk cases in the ticketing system by evaluating the priority/severity of incoming requests and dispatching cases to appropriate personnel.
  • Work rotational assignments within the IT department, including networking, system administration, procurement, service desk, business analysis, and application programming.
  • Collaborate with the department team on service requests and projects specific to the assigned team.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and customers on hardware and software-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Attend meetings with key stakeholders, project managers, and department supervisors.
  • Participate in training in key areas of the business, including online, in-person, and documentation.

Education:

  • High School Diploma, or GED, required.
  • Must be presently engaged in the pursuit of an associate or bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.

  • Knowledge of computer systems and software.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to changing technology.
