IT Auditor - Top Secret

Cotton has a need for an Auditor to support the Intelligence Community (IC) in Chantilly, VA. We are looking for highly motivated and detail-oriented professionals to join our assurance practice.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Information Systems degree preferred.
  • Minimum Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with polygraph for the IC (Intelligence Community)
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, barring any travel restrictions associated with the current COVID-19 environment 
  • Accounting and auditing experience
  • Experience working on financial statement audits
  • Experience working with Federal Government and/or DoD clients
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidacy is required. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating professionalism and competence in the client’s environment
  • Fostering an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment
  • Executing the day-to-day accounting and audit activities of the engagement and conducting fieldwork daily
  • Gathering audit-related data
  • Demonstrating awareness and knowledge of the Federal Government’s financial and management responsibilities
  • Assisting in drafting and preparing project deliverables
  • Utilizing technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and results-oriented
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Your Work Place/Travel: The majority of the work will be performed locally in Chantilly, VA, but there is outside travel to client sites. Some additional travel may be required. You must be able to transport a laptop and working documents to these sites.

Your Work Hours: Full-time. Core hours are 9 am-4 pm EST.
