The Opportunity 

Online Education Services (OES) is seeking a proactive and collaborative Academic Delivery Lead (Monash Online) to join our Academic Delivery team. In this role, you will ensure the successful delivery of a portfolio of online units, working closely with teaching teams and university stakeholders to maintain quality, compliance, and exceptional student experiences. You’ll provide coaching and support to Online Unit Coordinators (OUCs), oversee workforce planning and recruitment of Online Learning Advisers (OLAs), and lead initiatives that improve retention and engagement. 

As we continue to innovate online education and respond to emerging trends (including AI in assessment design), this role is critical in driving operational excellence and pedagogical best practice across Monash Online programs. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and coach OUCs to deliver high-quality teaching and manage performance challenges where required. 
  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding of OLAs in collaboration with People & Culture. 
  • Maintain oversight of unit delivery each teaching period, ensuring alignment with OES pedagogy and Monash Online standards. 
  • Implement assessment best practices, including strategies for AI integration. 
  • Resolve delivery challenges, including student complaints, plagiarism cases, and Moodle errors. 
  • Review unit Moodle sites for accreditation compliance and develop delivery plans. 
  • Analyse student feedback to inform unit improvements and retention initiatives. 
  • Facilitate collaboration between delivery and learning design teams at key touchpoints. 
  • Act as an escalation point for quality assurance issues and support continuous improvement. 

 

About You 

  • Subject matter expertise in IT, Data Science, or Computer Science (specific qualifications may vary by portfolio). 
  • Demonstrated experience in people leadership, including coaching and performance management. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Skilled in interpreting and analysing data to inform decisions. 
  • Comfortable managing change and driving process improvements. 
  • Passionate about education and aligned with OES values: passion and perseverance, teamwork, agility and innovation, integrity. 
  • Minimum Masters level qualification in IT or a relevant discipline.
