Investigative Journalist for High-Authority Thought Leadership Content (Digital PR)

AI overview

Produce high-quality investigative articles for digital PR campaigns that engage reputable outlets while collaborating with content strategists to ensure impact and clarity.

At Andava Digital Marketing Agency we’re looking for a highly skilled investigative journalist to produce in-depth, credible, and analytically rich content that goes beyond surface-level information.
This is not a typical SEO or blog writing gig.
We are building long-form, thought leadership articles for use in digital PR campaigns  - pieces that journalists, editors, and reputable websites can confidently cite and share. These articles must be deeply researched, structured with clarity, and written to an editorial standard suitable for high-authority publications.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Investigating complex topics across business, finance, health, tech, environment, or social trends (topics vary by campaign).
  • Researching via credible sources, studies, FOIA requests, public databases, or interviews, if needed.
    • Producing articles that demonstrate a clear argument, original insight, and strong supporting evidence.
    • Collaborating with our content strategist or editor to align with campaign goals.
    • Writing content that reads like a feature story or expert commentary, not marketing fluff or surface-level reporting.

    🔒 Strict Requirements:
Please only apply if you meet all of the following:

    • Proven experience as an investigative journalist. We are not looking for general content writers or ghostwriters.
    • At least 2 examples of published investigative or thought leadership pieces within the last 12 months. (Your name must appear as author or contributor.)
    • A clear rate per word or per article must be included in your cover letter.
    • Mention your top areas of expertise (e.g., corporate ethics, healthcare, consumer protection, environmental law, etc.)
    • Provide links to your best recent publications (not just portfolio PDFs, real URLs only).

    🌍 Preferred Experience (Not Required):

    • Familiarity with digital PR or linkable content campaigns.
    • Understanding of media angles and what makes a piece worth quoting or citing.
    • Past work featured in reputable outlets like The Guardian, ProPublica, The Atlantic, Wired, BBC, NYT, etc.

    🧾 Compensation:

    • Pay per word or article, depending on complexity.
    • We are open to discussing fair compensation for quality work.
    • Potential for long-term collaboration with multiple monthly assignments.

    🚀 To Apply, Please Include:

    • A short cover letter (3–5 sentences max) explaining why you’re a good fit.
    • Your price per word or price per article.
    • Links to 2+ relevant articles published in the past year.
    • Your top areas of investigative or research expertise.
