Job title:  INVENTORY AND LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

Summary/Objective:  The Inventory & Logistics Supervisor will manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities related to stocking & replenishing goods, picking product and preparing for shipment, and ensuring that Samtec’s Inventory System is operational.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

1. Responsible to manage, lead and supervise a team to achieve the organizational objectives.
2. Be the area owner and accountable for the area / department performance metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
3. Provide support to all inventory and traffic locations Globally maintaining high service levels.
4. Maintain excellent interdepartmental communications, including with manufacturing, compliance, logistics, supply chain, and global inventory and traffic teams.
5. Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need information regarding vendors, products, deliveries, etc.
6. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
7. Issue written and oral instructions.
8. Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
9. Study and standardize procedures to improve storage, workflow, and efficiency of workers.
10. Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
11. Interview and hire new employees.
12. Confer with other managers in the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities.

Required Experience:

1. 7+ Years’ Experience in Inventory or Logistics.
2. 3+ Years’ Experience in managing & leading a large staff; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
3. Must be able to do multiple things simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
4. Communication and Organizational skills are required.
5. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
6. Must be able to learn new systems quickly as this position will be using home-grown systems to perform daily tasks and duties.
7. Must be customer service oriented and have attention to detail.
8. Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.

Education:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience.

1. On the job training as appropriate.
