Inventory Controller (Supply Chain)

Position Summary

The Inventory Controller will play a key role in ensuring inventory accuracy, compliance, and effective coordination across the OrganOx supply chain. This includes managing safety stock policies, performing ABC analysis, forecasting inventory and spend, and overseeing sales order and item quote management. The role demands strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement within a regulated medical technology environment.

This entry-level position is designed for recent graduates with industrial experience, seeking to develop their career in planning and inventory management within a regulated medical technology environment. This role would also suit an individual with practical experience in a similar role gained via vocational training or apprenticeship.

This is an on-site role in Oxford to allow for collaboration with key stakeholders across the business.

Listed below are the major responsibilities of the role and a brief description of some of the key tasks to be performed. This list is not totally exhaustive.

 

Major Responsibilities

With guidance and support from the Planning Manager, the Inventory Controller will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring inventory compliance across all warehouse locations and systems
  • Acting as the focal point for accounts-related inventory matters
  • Developing and maintaining safety stock policies to ensure material availability
  • Performing ABC analysis to optimise inventory classification and control
  • Forecasting inventory requirements based on historical data and operational plans
  • Forecasting spend and supporting budget planning activities
  • Managing sales orders in the ERP system and ensuring timely fulfilment
  • Overseeing item quote management and coordinating with procurement and suppliers
  • Adhere to the letter and spirit of OrganOx’s Code of Conduct and all other company policies

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Recent graduate in a manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or a related discipline, preferably with a year in industry; OR an individual with practical experience in a similar role gained via vocational training or apprenticeship.
  • Very strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with an ERP system would be an advantage
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Excel
  • Interest in working within a regulated environment.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in manufacturing, supply chain management, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
