About the role
We have a unique opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance, based at our Fender EMEA head office in East Grinstead! Reporting to EMEA Finance Manager, this role will ensure compliance with UK and EU Vat rules, maintain accurate inventory provisions, balance sheet control, supporting the annual audit process, and maintaining strong internal controls and governance.

Main Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and standard operating procedures and identify/establish internal controls and ensure their operating effectiveness,
- Preparing concise, accurate, timely and detailed general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries according to specified corporate formats and deadlines.
- Assist with setting up and implementing new PO system and monitoring PO authorisations.
- Assist with month end reporting to ensure adherence to group deadlines.
- Preparation and submission of UK & EU VAT returns, EU Sales Lists, and duty administrative support,
- Preparation of Duty, Freight and Warranty Accruals
- Responsible for UK & EU compliance with various regulatory environmental reporting requirements,
- Assisting with balance sheet forecast and annual budget, working with Hyperion, including variance analysis versus budget and prior year.
- Assist with audit, preparation, and submission of EMEA statutory accounts.
- Responsible for complex intercompany accounting and reconciliation
- Responsible for complex inventory reconciliations and sales cut off calculations
- Maintenance of the group fixed asset register and providing CAPEX analysis to support heads of department
- Provide support and information for statutory EMEA audits and group requirements,
- Maintaining records and documents for company secretarial purposes for UK and EMEA companies,
- Identify process improvements and implement once approved
- Provide further ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and Financial Director where required

Person Specification
Essential Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- Part qualified/qualified accountant, AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA equivalent
- Ideally candidates will have 1-2 years’ experience in a similar internationally focused role
- Practical experience of statutory and fiscal reporting for medium sized companies
- Knowledge of accounting under FRS 102 regulations
- Prior experience of complex intercompany accounting
- Previous exposure to inventory reconciliation and reporting
- Proven VAT experience
- Experience of FX and multi-currency accounting
- Strong excel skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
