For the Bright department we are looking for interns! The following internships / graduation assignments are available. Apply using the apply button and select the (graduation) internship you are interested in.
The internships on this page are:
1: Ergonomic and Maintainability Assessment of Biogas Upgrading and CO₂ Liquefaction Plants;
2: Transient system model;
3: Pretreatment CO2 Liquefier;
4: Upgrader Test Setup Pre-treatment Compact.
The intern will assess the ergonomic design, reachability, and maintainability of existing biogas upgrading and CO₂ liquefaction installations. Systems will be evaluated against relevant occupational health and safety standards (e.g., ARBO norms). Based on findings, the intern will develop improvement proposals and design recommendations to enhance serviceability, safety, and operational efficiency.
Review current Biogas upgrading and CO2 liquefaction plants based on reachability and maintainability and come with proposals of an improved design;
Test current service and maintenance procedures with respect to applicable standards (ARBO for example).

In this assignment you will work on the development of a fully dynamic model of the methanol reactor system in development at Bright Renewables. Continuing from work of previous interns your task will be to integrated the stand alone models in a total system, and find the appropriate control strategy.
Complete dynamical models of sub systems;
Develop integrated model of al dynamic sub-models;
Set-up control system for the overall plant;
Analyse results and develop control strategies;

To produce Food Grade Liquid CO2 the raw gas quality requires purification. In order not to modify the standard CO2 Liquefier a suitable pretreatment is ideally selected. Pre-cooling, water-scrubbing, active carbon treatment or catalytic removal can be considered based on common contaminant concentrations.
Design standard pretreatments, based on the source of CO2 and typical contaminants origination from those systems. The pre-treatment aims to refine the incoming gas to an EIGA compliant raw incoming gas;
Consider components that are not easy to quantify by GC but do have an organoleptic impact on the final product quality;
Test options and engineer/advice potential pretreatment skid based solutions;
If pre-treatment is complicated, consider how to integrate treatment within the current equipment and (local/site specific) regulations.

For the redesign of our Upgrader Compact we would like to have an easy way of testing the pre-treatment skid. For this we would like to have a small test panel been made that can be easily connected to this skid. You will be working in the E&I and Software department of Bright Renewables.
Analyze the new pre-treatment skid;
Design a test panel;
Get the test panel build;
Perform the actual test.

Working with technology pioneers of the energy transition;
Monthly fixed fee of € 500 based on 40 hours per week;
Lots of responsibility and room for own initiatives;
Professional support, guidance and insights;
International working environment only a 5-minute walk from Kennispark railway station in Enschede;
