Internship for Train Operations

An Internship for Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the specialized field of high-end rail travel. This role is designed for individuals passionate about hospitality, logistics, and delivering exceptional customer experiences within a distinctive and elegant setting. Interns will contribute to the seamless operation of luxury train journeys, ensuring every aspect of the guest experience meets the highest standards of excellence.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Guest Experience Enhancement: Assisting in curating and delivering personalized services that exceed guest expectations, similar to those found in luxury hotels.
• Onboard Service Coordination: Supporting the coordination of various onboard services, such as fine dining, beverage service, and entertainment.
• Logistics and Scheduling Support: Contributing to the planning and execution of train schedules, passenger movements, and the coordination of resources.
• Operational Process Improvement: Identifying and recommending enhancements to operational processes and procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Liaising with various departments, including hospitality, culinary, maintenance, and sales, to ensure seamless communication and integrated service delivery.
• Administrative Support: Performing general administrative duties such as preparing reports, managing documentation, and assisting with data analysis.
• Safety and Compliance: Learning and adhering to train safety rules and operational procedures, contributing to a secure environment for both guests and crew.
• Project Assistance: Participating in special projects related to service development, route planning, or other strategic initiatives within luxury train operations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Strong academic record.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• A genuine interest in luxury travel and the railway industry.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Experience in the hospitality industry is a bonus, but not a necessity.
