Join our Risk & Compliance department as an Internal Controller - Corporate to support Qonto's transition from Payment Institution to Credit Institution. You'll work across the Risk, Regulatory, and Finance teams to ensure robust compliance with banking regulations and capital requirements. You will report to Jérémy, our Lead Internal Control. ➡️ What you'll do Oversee capital and liquidity compliance: Ensure Qonto meets all solvency and liquidity standards under the credit institution framework — capital risk management, financial resilience requirements, prudential ratios. Execute credit risk controls: Perform controls on credit risk assessment, evaluate counterparty risk, and review mitigation techniques. Monitor market risks: Execute controls on Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), FX risk, and Liquidity Risk management. Ensure regulatory reporting accuracy: Perform second-level controls on regulatory reporting and Pillar III disclosures — accuracy and deadlines, no exceptions. Drive remediation: Collaborate with Risk, Regulatory, and Finance (Accounting, ALM & Treasury) to address control findings, improve processes, and ensure corrective actions land on time. ➡️ What we're looking for Audit or control experience in banking: 3-5 years in a Big Four Financial Services/Banking practice or Internal Audit within a traditional bank. You've seen what a credit institution control framework looks like from the inside. Banking sector knowledge: Solid background in Credit Institutions with hands-on experience on capital adequacy and credit risk frameworks — COREP, ICAAP, large exposures, not just theory. Analytical rigor: You identify control gaps, propose relevant remediation, and challenge the status quo constructively. You don't just flag — you fix. Stakeholder management: You're autonomous, rigorous with deadlines, and able to communicate complex findings clearly to senior stakeholders (Leads and Heads across Risk, Regulatory, Finance). Languages: Fluent French (mandatory for regulatory documentation) and fluent English. ➡️ What we can offer you Qonto's biggest regulatory milestone: The Credit Institution transition is happening now. Your controls directly secure the license and Qonto's regulatory standing — this isn't business-as-usual internal control. Cross-functional exposure at senior level: You'll interact regularly with Leads and Heads across Risk, Regulatory, and Finance. The scope is broad — credit risk, market risk, liquidity, regulatory reporting. A specialist team covering diverse risks: You'll join a team of controllers spanning Finance, Legal, and AFC — people who are curious, rigorous, and constantly adapting to new regulations. Autonomy with structure: Monthly control plans, kick-offs, and clear frameworks — but you own your deadlines and your stakeholder relationships. ➡️ Your future manager Your manager will be Jérémy, our Senior Lead Internal Control. His path? ESTP engineer and IAE Paris-Sorbonne MBA graduate, Jérémy spent 3 years in financial audit at Forvis Mazars (banking department), then 2+ years in internal control at Bpifrance (Risk & Finance). He joined Qonto in 2022 as a Senior Internal Controller, was promoted to Lead, and now serves as Senior Lead — he's built the internal control function from the inside over 4 years. What does he bring to the team? A structured approach (monthly control plans, kick-offs) combined with real autonomy. He trusts you to manage your deadlines and stakeholder relationships independently, and he knows the role you're stepping into — he's done every level of it himself.
